Frequently asked questions
General
No. Most people who come to WarbyWorks aren't in crisis. They're managing fine on the outside and want to work out why something feels off, or want to go further from a place that's already working.
Coaching works with where you are now and where you want to go, not what's already happened. It's not therapy, which tends to focus on understanding the past and how it's shaped you. It's not mentoring either: you won't be handed advice or a path to follow. The coaching is led by you; the sessions build your own capacity to find answers and act on them.
In the discovery session we'll agree how to structure the coaching - most people move into a block of 4 to 6 sessions, usually weekly, but frequency and length adjust to what you actually need.
Both. In-person sessions run in Wanaka and Queenstown. Online sessions are available everywhere, including locally, with time slots to suit your timezone.
Nothing. The first session is free, thirty minutes, no obligation.
Ongoing sessions are usually structured as a programme, with the investment depending on the plan we agree together. Single ad hoc sessions are also available for people who prefer that format. Either way, we cover cost and structure in the discovery session once we know what your coaching actually looks like.
Over his career Mark has often been in roles that meant managing and developing teams, supporting individuals through professional and personal challenges, and working closely with customers as their businesses grew. Recognising a desire to support people in a more structured and direct way, he trained as a coach. He's on an ICF-accredited pathway - Level 1 complete, Level 2 in progress, with ACC credentialing underway.
Coaching is about you - your thinking, your capacity, how you make decisions. It's not about being handed answers or told what to do; the thinking stays yours, with support to work through it. Business advisory is a different engagement, involving a more active input role and direct work on the business - its direction, its problems, its decisions. Both are available, but they're separate conversations and separate engagements.
